Decrypting Zero Day Threats in an Encrypted World – a technical deep dive about SSL & Sandboxes

SESSION 3 | 1:00PM - 1:45PM | ROOM 9

With over 50% of Internet traffic being encrypted, and new threats coming out at a rate of 5 – 10 per second: we have a security problem!  At a technical level, we will break down how firewalls can keep you safe from encrypted threats.  We will also cover the technology behind how it is possible for your firewall to protect you from threats that are not yet known with multiple layers of sandboxes – yes, sandboxes.

This session is for the more technical attendees, or if you would merely like to understand the technology behind how firewalls protect your staff every day.

About David Raiter

I started in the IT field in 1989, primarily designing and building network infrastructures for companies throughout the upper Midwest. I have been involved in private, public, education, government, and even law enforcement networks.

Throughout my career I have had hands on experience designing and maintaining environments in the SMB to corporate world, data centers, private and public cloud, and even had a business that built a data center out of a tin storage shed and portable A/C units in a granite cutting facility.

For the last 10 plus years I have been advising educating and trying to help companies build and secure WAN’s using private and public connectivity by staying current with best practices in the industry by working as an advisor on behalf of clients.
